Eucalyptus, Rainbow Gum Tree (Eucalyptus deglupta) - 100 Seeds

$4.99 $9.99
While we typically only sell American grown seeds, we have had numerous customers ask us to track down a reliable Rainbow Eucalyptus source and we obliged. This tree is spectacular and unforgettable, so we definitely understand desire to grow them. As rainbow eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta) sheds its bark, it reveals a neon green inner layer. Over time, as this layer is exposed to air, it ages into different colors—bright reds, oranges, blues, pinks and purples. The different colors appear as different layers fall off, while other exposed areas begin aging. This process creates a spectacular visual, resembling a multi-colored crayon scratch drawing, covered with black crayon that is then scraped away to reveal the multi-colors underneath. While it can grow massive in its natural environment exceeding 250 feet tall, in the United States, it typically only reaches 100 foot. Naturally resistant to pest and disease, these trees are incredibly fast growers (around 3 feet per year). While it doesn't produce as much oil as other eucalyptus species, it will definitely produce the aromatic eucalyptus fragrance it is known for. If you want a fun project, this is the one for you.
