Flax, Blue (Linum perrene) - 100 Seeds
•American Grown Seed
•USDA Zones: 1-11
One of the easiest native wildflowers to grow from seed, Blue Flax adds charming, light blue blooms to the early season garden. Growing to be only 18-30” tall, this perennial is perfect for the front of the meadow or a small space garden. Very tolerant of sandy, dry soils, Blue Flax will grow in almost any sunny spot. This is definitely an easy win for your garden. It's so easy to grow and just looks stunning.
Direct sow in late fall or early spring planting just below the surface of the soil. This species does not transplant well. Water occasionally and control weeds to allow the seedlings to become established. Full growth and flowering usually does not occur until the second season of growth. Mature plants tolerate drought well, but will flourish with occasional watering. Unless the seeds are being harvesting, cut back the plant after flowering to allow for new growth next season.
