Venture beyond the usual vegetables with Giant Prague Celeriac. This heirloom variety brings forth substantial, globe-shaped roots with a smooth exterior and a deliciously earthy flavor profile akin to celery with nutty undertones. While it might not win beauty contests with its rough exterior, don't be deceived—its inner crispness and taste make it a culinary favorite. Used in Europe for centuries, Celeriac is perfect for soups, stews, or even mashed as an alternative to potatoes. This easy-to-grow root vegetable is known for its cold hardiness, making it an excellent winter harvest option. The leafy stalks, much like celery, can also be consumed and offer a mild flavor.

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Start celeriac seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before the last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per tray cell due to irregular germination, thinning to 1 plant later. Plant seeds no more than 0.25 inches deep; they need light to germinate. Keep soil moist, maintaining temperatures at 70-75F. Transplant post-frost in May-June when air temperatures are around 65-75F or soil is 60-65F. Celeriac thrives in stable temperatures between 50-75F.
