GROWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date, or sow directly outdoors in the fall. Black Cohosh seeds require cold stratification for 4-6 weeks at 40°F (4°C) to improve germination. Plant seeds 1/8 inch deep and keep the soil consistently moist until germination occurs, which typically takes 30-60 days. Transplant seedlings outdoors after the last frost, spacing them 18-24 inches apart. Black Cohosh prefers partial to full shade and well-draining, fertile, humus-rich soil.
