Aster, Silky (Aster sericeus) - 25 Seeds
•American grown seeds
Large flowers and attractive silvery foliage make this aster a popular choice for rock gardens and prairie planting. This hardy, low growing variety also distinguishes itself with unusual leaves which features fine white hairs.
Direct sow in late fall planting seeds just under the surface and watering once. If direct sown in the spring, the seeds must be stratified first by mixing it with moist sand and stored in the refrigerator for 60 days. After the cold treatment, sow in flats keeping the soil evenly moist and at 65-70° until germination. Transplant the seedlings after the last frost of spring. Silky Aster prefers full sun and medium to dry soil. It will tolerate drought, but will grow best with regular watering.
