Bean, Royal Burgundy (Phaseolus vulgaris) - 50 Seeds

$1.99 $3.99
A unique bush bean variety with a beautiful deep purple shade. This variety of bush bean is highly resistant to disease as well as pests. Plants grow quickly and produce large harvests. Because this type of bean grows on a bush, it is not necessary to support it with a pole or trellis. This plant can easily grow in cooler climates and soils, and it can survive bean beetles. Each pod is long and without strings. Their deep purple turns tender and green after being cooked. They are loaded with protein and antioxidants as well.

Growing Instructions:
Seeds can be sown in cooler soils than most other bush beans can handle, but the soil should be at least 65°. Direct sow seeds outside at least 1 week after the last spring frost when temps are at least 65°. Plant in rich, well-drained soil with full sun. If you've never planted beans in the garden before, treat the seeds with a powder inoculant to allow nitrogen fixation. Sow seeds 1" deep, 3" apart in rows 2-3' apart. Press soil down for good soil contact. Don't overwater.
